"I think everyone should forget their age and dare to dream big!"
At 17, the youngest contestant in Business Baazigar, Ashwini Diwan, was born and brought up in Kolkata. An intelligent, straight-grades student, Ashwini developed a passion for computers and the Internet since a very young age. Although his parents were not too happy about Ashwini spending too much time on the computer, they have given him the liberty to make his own decisions and choices in life. Ashwini attributes all that he is today to his parents.
Currently preparing for his engineering entrance exams, Ashwini’s idea is to set up a commercial website that will offer people the chance to win items for just Rs.10.
INTERVIEW
Q: Describe yourself in a few words.
A: Simple and ambitious.
Q: How do you define success?
A: I think I’ll feel successful when my business is my passion for me! For example, my business idea is based on the Internet. I will feel successful only if I do some business that is closely associated with the Net and not otherwise.
Q: Why do you think you can become the Business Baazigar?
A: My website idea is first of its kind – where someone with as little as ten bucks can hope to earn a lot. I think that if we keep low rates and get a lot of customers to the website, then the venture has to succeed! With that I would build a customer database and a strong client support. The Internet is something whose reach and presence is only going to increase. So I know there’ll be a lot of demand for my product!
Q: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
A: I think five years from now you’ll see me as an electronics engineer at least! And because of the added experience, I think you’ll see me as a more mature person.
